Reboot channels 29 and 30 will have some settings changed like we did for channels 2, 5, 8 but using a different method.Īlthough our team monitors these changes and does extensive testing internally to determine if there are any improvements to these channels, we hope to validate the results we see with direct feedback from our players in a live environment.
Channel 6 seemed to have improved the most from all the changes in terms of time loading the channel, logs that were generated, and the feel of in-game playing.Īfter today’s Reboot world maintenance, we are going to apply the same changes we did for Reboot channel 6 to Reboot channels 4, 11, 14, 18, 26, 27, and 28 since we saw the most improvement with this change. Unfortunately, playing on it felt worse than before the change, and we also saw similar comments from players in the survey.
Hardware spec changes for Reboot world channels 4 and 6Īfter putting channels 4 and 6 on a server with different hardware specs, we actually saw channel 4 improve in terms of the channel loading time. We had applied additional setting changes to these channels in Reboot world, but after internal testing and review of the player survey responses, there were only a few improvements but nothing definitive. Setting changes for Reboot world channels 2, 5, and 8 Channel loading took the same amount of time and not much appeared to change in terms of lag when we reviewed the player survey we sent out, as well as during our internal testing. We attempted to move the 20 affected channel servers with the service provider, but this didn’t seem to change much of the performance. We would like to give an update on what we have observed over the past week after applying the changes. Quests in vanilla weren't spectacular either, but at least you felt like it'd be a good idea to do some in between the grinding.Last week we mentioned that we were trying to do 3 things to troubleshoot and investigate the ongoing lag issues. Or just how long it takes to hit 250 or 275 even, i'd rather rush a level to have content than hitting 100 on an oldschool sever when the more you lv the less conent there is, hence why 200 is just so stupid in vanillaĪnd speaking of content, most of the content just ends up basically dead in the solo waters because most players would just do other things to grind to 200. Woah, imagine thinking lv100 is something in today's maple, people always whine about "muh 200 in 2 days" but nobody even thinks that maybe 200 is a rush because most content is 200+? It was an achievement as opposed to instantly leveling to 100 in 2-3 hours with the current maplestory.

But sadly, Nexon are starting to crack down on some of the private servers, so nothing is gonna last.Īnd yeah the old leveling was a grind, but that was what made it fun for some of us. That's why I play the original private server with the other 3k+ players.
